David shares, "I was going through a trial of understanding with what my family, my grandparents, and my ancestors, as a larger sense and sensibility were asking of me. I’m the child in this song. Here at your table… Looking out the windows. And I was asking a lot of them. I still am."

His wife gave the lyrics to Eric, and Eric and David went to work crafting the song.
